The Field Guide Course affords students the opportunity to obtain the the entry level qualification required by the lodge industry. Field Guides (often referred to in the lodge industry as rangers) are people who are qualified to take paying guests on walks or drives in non-dangerous game areas or on drives in Big Five areas. It is a role that is very ‘people-orientated’ and therefore is best suited to nature lovers that are story-tellers and who have a love of sharing their knowledge and passion with other people. The course is also suited to anyone who is keen to spend two months in the bush, and for gap year and nature conservation students.
